* Adhesion efficacy in the intestine as measured by adhesion to HT-29 cells in the intestine: 1E9 CFU of bacteria were added to the plates containing HT-29 cell layers and incubated at 37°C for 2 hours. The plates were then washed three times with PBS solution to collect unadherent bacteria. The data show the percentage of bacteria adhering to the HT-29 cell layer relative to the amount of bacteria added. All values are expressed as the mean ± SD (standard deviation) of triplicate experiments.
